More Than Faith

Is there no divinity left within me?
Is there still light to run toward?
A small spark may yet live
Underneath all these ashes

If this is not so, then I am
Left only to wrestle with
My humanity, like the confines
Of this page. When it ends,
It ends.

Yes, I understand not all my thoughts are poetry.

Not all my speeches prose.

And it may be Idle Youth
or Baptist Guilt
or Ancient, Novel Narcissism

But

Yes, but – there will always be
A turn of phrase
When it comes to me

But

I am convinced there is something more within me

To believe I’m truly special
Takes more faith
Than believing in You

What of the harrowed atheist
The one who dearly misses God
But cannot return to Him.

If you like what you read, feel free to share. Basic Rules: Be civil. We are all people and deserve respect. That’s a hard and fast rule, by the way, it is not optional. Other than that, anything goes.

Interested in many things, but nothing captivates more than technology, entrepreneurship, futurism, and humanity's quest to problem-solve.
